Fancy Yellow Diamonds
Welcome to our website where we have provided both pertinent information and a variety of
sources of the fancy yellow diamonds for the most discerning and individual of customers and at the best
possible prices.
The term fancy yellow diamonds can be applied to any stronger colored yellow diamond. Those falling
into this category will have a certain tonal grading, from light to dark and a secondary color saturation grading
from light to dark.
These diamonds will be graded from the lightest to the darkest as follows;
Fancy Light Yellow
Fancy Yellow
Fancy Intense yellow
Fancy Vivid Yellow
Fancy Deep Yellow
Fancy Dark Yellow
The vivid and intense fancy yellow diamonds will be those normally referred to as canary
diamonds.
This color grading is carried out by the eye of a highly skilled Gemstone Jeweller as yet there are
no automated processes that can surpass that of a trained eye.
If you are looking to buy a fancy yellow diamond, any will be suitable for a special ring or other
piece of jewellery but in general the canary gems are most popular. It is the epitome of yellow being
so bright, intense and strong.
It is however a matter of personal taste as to the color that will appeal. If you are looking
for a statement gem, for a dress ring or pendant, perhaps you may want to look at marmalade or deeper yellow shades
which may compliment the recipient’s skin or evening clothing choices. Or you may want a light and bright,
contrast stone; in that case a light or canary color would suit you.
There is no escaping the fact that fancy yellow diamonds are expensive!
The reason is simply the scarcity of these gems, although of late there have been more yellow
colored gems extracted from the Argyll mine in Australia. Fancy yellow diamonds are actually not entirely
natural and you should be wary of false certificates of natural color. In most cases the gems will be
enhanced. They do possess a large amount of yellow color to start with but most have been treated by a
technical process and high heat procedure to intensify the colors.
This treatment does not lessen their desirability or the cost as only a certain type of the natural
colored gems are suitable for enhancing successfully.
A strong colored natural diamond is very rare and most jewellers will never come across one.
There is no doubt that anyone receiving fancy yellow diamonds as a gift should be absolutely
thrilled to possess such a rare and beautiful gemstone. Not only is it a wise investment, financially, but a
lifelong heirloom item of jewellery.
